Registration for MAGIC courses

If you want to take a MAGIC course, you need to register on the MAGIC website.

MAGIC Registration

You should first go to the MAGIC login page and log in. Your user name is your full email address. The MAGIC database is not synchronised with the CiCS database so if you changed your email at some point (for example, from pmp09js@sheffield.ac.uk to J.Smith@sheffield.ac.uk) then you should try both forms and see which one works. The system will send you a password by email if you do not already have one.

All postgraduates are entered automatically in the MAGIC database. If you are a postdoc or a staff member then you should email Neil Strickland to ask to be added.

After you have logged in, you will see a link marked Edit my course registrations. On that page, you will see a tick box for each available course. All that you need to do is to tick the relevant box(es).

On the page that you see after logging in, there is also a link marked Edit my details. It will be helpful for your lecturers, and friendly for your fellow students, if you upload a photo of yourself and enter some details about your background.

If you register for a course but later decide not to participate, it is helpful to untick the relevant box so that the lecturer and the MAGIC committee can keep better records.
