Research:

Interests: Higher dimensional category theory
Research group: Category Theory
Publications: ArXiv, MathSciNet

Biography:

I got my Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 2006, studying under Peter May. I then went to Yale to work with Mikhail Kapranov as an NSF postdoc. I joined the University of Sheffield as a lecturer in the fall of 2009.

Research interests:

My research is in higher dimensional category theory with a particular emphasis on two topics:
  • coherence theorems for structures in 2- and 3-dimensional category theory, and
  • the interactions between category theory and algebraic topology in low dimensions.
These two topics are often intertwined, and one continued theme in my research is that coherence questions can often be answered using topology.
